Commercial photography is all about using images to sell product. This can be anything from jewellery to a house and anything in-between.
Loving Light Studios is my facility for shooting catalogue images with a model, as well as smaller products such as jewellery, handbags, carvings, ceramics, in-fact the list can be as long as you like. We are also fully equipped to shoot other items on site, a prime example being food, which obviously has to be freshly prepared and photographed whilst completely fresh.
Question; What is there to taking a photo of a plate of food?
Answer; A great deal!
When photographing food we have to consider the presentation of the dish, the setting in which it will be photographed, how best to light the food to make it appeal to the customer.
Photographing food is a serious business and on occasion I have worked with a food stylist who’s job it is to bring all of these elements together for me to capture.
Remember, beautiful food photography increases your sales.
Property is another aspect of commercial photography and it was my path into professional photography. Over 20 years ago in my career as an interior decorator and designer I would photograph my own finished projects and you can read more about this in one of my blog posts on this site. Capturing a property so that it has life to it is an art and one that I thoroughly enjoy and it is just as important for domestic properties as it is for hotels, resorts, spas and corporations.
Another very exciting area is Car and Motorbike photography.
Cars and bikes are multi facetted and highly reflective. The way a vehicle is lit is absolutely key to how it will present in the photograph. I have a large array of specialised lighting equipment and a total love of anything automotive. Whether a car or bike, a truck or a macro, I can capture stunning exterior and interior shots, including engines ad fine details.
My clients for vehicle photography include individuals who love their vehicles as well as specialist renovation companies and high-end re-sellers. I will be expanding this side of my business in the coming months.
